Cleaning area rugs is a very specialized service due to the risks and challenges associated with cleaning natural fibers. A very thorough pre-inspection and testing must be done to identify what the rug is made out of, and how stable the dyes are. If we determine that it is safe to clean the rug we will then proceed using the best method we feel is right for the rug. The rug will get a very thorough vacuuming in order to remove as much dry soil as possible. In most cases we are able to use steam cleaning on wool, nylon and olefin rugs. In some cases where there is a chance of dyes bleeding, we may be able to set the dyes using a low PH product called "Dye-loc" and then using a dry foam method. There are situations in which it would be better to remove the rug from the home for cleaning such as in the case of urine contamination or a heavily soiled rug. In any case, we will do our best to treat each rug as if it were our own. |
